When you're invited to a live video interview, it's very important to note the date, time, and timezone the live video interview is scheduled for.

Knowing this information, we highly suggest you don't wait until the last minute to access and join the live video interview.

Plan to join your live video interview at least 10 minutes before the scheduled start time to allow enough time for you to complete the setup.

When you're ready to access and join your live video interview on Spark Hire, follow these steps:

Tips for joining your interview

  • Join your interview at least 10 minutes before your scheduled interview time to allow enough time to complete the hardware and connection checks.
  • Make sure you've allowed your browser to access your camera and microphone when prompted.
  • Stay on the interview page after entering the lobby until your interviewer joins the session.

1. Open your live video interview invitation email

Open the live video interview invitation you received from Spark Hire on behalf of the company.

Click the Join Interview button in the email. If the button doesn't work, there should be a link in the email that you can copy and paste in your browser's address bar.

This button/link is always the fastest way into your live video interview.

2. Review your live video interview information

After clicking Join Interview, you'll be taken to a page that includes information about the job you're interviewing for.

When you're ready to continue, click Go to your interview.

3. Complete the device setup

Before joining your live video interview, Spark Hire will guide you through a series of checks to make sure you're ready.

These checks include:

  • Giving Spark Hire permission to use your camera and microphone (your browser should prompt you)
  • Verifying that your camera is working correctly
  • Verifying that your microphone is working correctly
  • Allowing you to change your selected camera or microphone if needed
  • Testing your internet connection speed to ensure it's suitable for a live video interview

4. Start your interview

After you've successfully completed the hardware and connection checks, click Start my interview which will take you into the interview lobby (waiting area).

5. Wait in the interview lobby

After clicking Start my interview, you'll enter the interview lobby (waiting area).

Remain here until your interviewer officially starts the live video interview.

When they do so, you'll be instantly connected.
